Box Hill North Scout Group was formed in 1955 (then as 11th Box Hill). We have run since then, and have grown to become a vibrant and active part of the local and scouting community.

We are part of Scouts Australia, who in turn is part of the World Organization of Scouting Movements, or WOSM. Scouting is the largest youth movement in the world, with more than 30 million members across all but a few countries.

Locally, you may have seen our group at one of the many community events run, as well as out and about. All scout groups have their own scarf, and ours is quite distinctive!

Our group regularly takes part in events such as Scout Hike, a yearly hiking competition, Cohen Shield, a weekend to test your skills, and some of our members take part in the many scouting performances held in Melbourne, including Whitehorse Showtime, and Melbourne Gang Show, which is Melbourne's longest continuously running Amateur Musical Theatre company - quite a feat!

Our group also attends the major events run for scouting, including Cuboree, a week long camp for Cub Scouts held every 3 years, and Jamboree, which is a 2 week camp for Scouts held every 3 years. Over 13,000 people attended the last Jamboree, held in New South Wales at the start of 2016, where they spent 2 weeks doing heaps of activities including Abseiling, Snorkelling, Challenge Courses, learning skills, building things and having fun! These events are a highlight of many peoples time in scouting.
